Easy Updates = Intel Chipset & Realtek Audio
Intel Chipset update
Run this easy to use Intel Driver Update Utility and it will automatically tell you if you need to update your chipset INF file, and if so, will prompt you to install. Once installed, Click Start- Intel Driver Update Utility- Intel Driver Update Utility 2.0. Then click "Auto detect...".
Once you have done the above Intel Chipset update and restarted the computer, proceed to the Realtek installation below.
Realtek HD Audio update
I have the Dell Alienware X51-R1 with the onboard Realtek audio. I used the retail Realtek driver below and it updated from 6.0.1.6662 February 26, 2013 to 6.0.1.7246 May 14, 2014.
* Go here
* Click "High Definition Audio Codecs (Software)"
* Check, "I accept to the above"
* Click Next
* Look to the right of "64bits Vista, Windows7, Windows8, Windows8.1, Windows10 Driver only (Executable file)"
* Click the Global link
* The file will want to download. Tell it where to save the file so you can find it
* Run the file. Follow the instructions and restart the system when done. Re-test the audio when done

Two monitor issue - inspiron 3847
I just purchased an Inspiron 3847. I have my first monitor - Dell E172Fp connected by a VGA to VGA cable to the cpu. This monitor works fine. I also have a 2nd monitor - Dell 1703FP connected to the HDMI port on the computer by a VGA to HDMI cable. I have gone into the BIOS to make sure that multiple screens is enabled. I can not get the 1703FP to show anything from the cpu or even be detected.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Need to post a desktop question, but no "New Post" button.
I looked into a few groups to see where I might ask some questions related to more than one of my systems (a desktop and a server). I wanted to ask about the desk top question first, but when I go into the desktop group, there is no "New Post" button.
When I went to this group (CustCareBoard), I saw the New Post button, and when I go to the Servers groups, I see a new-post button -- but not in desktop.
Why am I not able to post in the Desktop group? Can you tell me how to fix it, or can you fix it?

UP2516D, might have tinting issues?
Hello all,
I am the recent owner of a Dell UP2516D with PremierColor. Allegedly, in my opinion. But more about this, later.
Firmware version is M3T102. The monitor is connected via supplied DP1.2 cable to MacMini7,1 (late 2014) running on OS X 10.11.4 "El Capitan". MST is off.
The short story: if I select Preset Modes -> Color Preset -> AdobeRGB, then the Uniformity Compensation goes Off(unselectable) and the left half has a greenish tint, and the right half of the screen has a pinkish tint. (We're not talking here about hardware(DUCCS) or GPU calibration, yet, just the default settings).
Now the question(s): is this the expected behaviour? Is this something that can be fixed or should I return the monitor for warranty? Is there anybody on this forum kind enough to set his/hers UP2516D monitor like the above and confirm if s/he sees the same issue? Pretty please :).

U2813WM - how to enter in OSD menue
I am connecting the monitor to a Lenovo W540 with a mini-display-port.
The driver from the CD is installed and updated.
The monitor can detect in the menue the "mini-display-port" as connected,
and in Win7 64bit the monitor is recognized as a Dell ..
but the Display manager on the notebook reports:
No connection to a Dell Monitor...
I am able to use the menue on the Monitor _only_ for one screen. Input source.
Thats done using button #4.
There is no oportunity to enter in other settings.for a detailed testing.
Yes, there are 5 buttons, but when pressing #1. #2 or #3 nothing happens.

U3014 does not recover from power save
Hi,
I have a problem where U3014 doesn't recover from power save mode and I have to reboot the computer (or at least kill the X server, losing all my work) to get it working. This happened randomly with my old computer and displayport, but it seems to happen every single time with my new computer and HDMI 1.4.
Everything works ok until screen saver switches the display off. After this, U3014 claims there's no signal from the computer and refuses to switch on.
(I'm using HDMI now because displayport doesn't work well with the new computer - the picture keeps switching on and off all the time. This computer has Intel HD 4400 graphics and it's running xubuntu 16.04. I have many other displays (1920x1080, 1920x1200) and I have never seen a problem like this with any other display with the same computers (or any other computer).)
My U3014 is REV A01.
Is there any way to fix this problem or should I just throw away this display?

Hi,
Guess what guys I found official solution for "no power" issue, complete dead, no sign at all. This is not this basic trobleshooting which is shown on the film by dell.
This is for Alienware 13 R2, 15 R2 & 17 R3

Alienware 15 R2 and 17 R3
1.Shut down the system
2.Remove the bottom cover
3.Disconnect the battery cable
4.Remove the system memory
5.Click Here to watch a video on how to remove the memory
6.Locate the CLRP1 Pins
7.Connect everything back and try again. If your system load Windows, update your system Bios to version 1.2.13 or higher from our Drivers page.
Alienware 13 R2
1.Shut down the system
2.Remove the bottom cover
3.Disconnect the battery cable

5.Locate the CLRP2 Pins
6.Using pliers or a flat head screwdriver touch both pins at the same time
7.Connect everything back and try again. If your system load Windows, update your system Bios to version 1.2.13 or higher from our Drivers page.
I have not check that yet but user rchnorton confirmed that this solution worked for him. In the end I am wondering why this solution is not highlighted here, it should be very visible.

The original paperwork for my old Inspiron 620 ain't no more. Can the config be viewed using only the service tag ? If so, how (since it's not obvious from Dell's website) ?

U2515H randomly goes black as external laptop monitor
I connect U2515H as external monitor for my MacBook Air (mid 2012) with standard mDP-DP cable. Sometime it works fine for hours. But sometime randomly goes black as shown here:

Dell U2413 uniformity/backlight
The monitor has quite noticeable increase in brightness in bottom left and bottom right corners as per picture below. The effect is especially strong in bottom right corner.
The picture was taken while running the monitor Built-in Diagnostic. Note that the room is not completely dark, it is illuminated. In complete darkness the effect is even more pronounced.
Is this monitor eligible for exchange?

Intel Graphics Accelerator Drivers crashing.
Hi everyone,
I have windows 7 Premium that keeps going to a black screen when playing online gaes, recovering, and then saying "Intel Graphics Accelerator Drivers for Windows Vista(R) stopped responding and has fully recovered."
But I do not have Windows Vista. Please, what do I need to do? Thanks

DELL AC511 Soundbar, microphone or audio out not working
Hi,
I have bought this soundbar for my new Dell monitor U2515Hc.
All seemed fine until I plugghed my headset into the soundbar.
No problems with the audio jack, but when I plug the microphone all sound stops.
Soundbar only - Soundbar works fine, sound out.
Audio jack into soundbar - Sound out just fine in headphones.
Both audio jack and microphone jack into soundbar - No sound whatsoever.
Microphone jack only into soundbar - No sound whatsoever.
When I check the recording devices, I can see two High Definition Audio devices unavailable (not selectable).
I tried to use Skype and the microphone actually works great, it seems I can use the microphone and get sound out from the sound bar at the same time.
Any help would be really appreciated!

U2412M, DDM error, not supported
Hi
I'm using windows 7 on a desktop. my graphic card is Nvidia quadro FX580 (driver version 9.18.13.4195)
I can see the display in the device manager it is unidentified as Dell U2412M (Display port)
Dell Display manager (1.27.1792) doesn't identify the monitor. I get a balloon message saying that it requires supported Dell monitor. Older version of DDM didn't work either.
The display is connected through HDMI port on the graphic card. I've tried the DVI connection as well, but same result.
Only a single monitor is connected to the computer. DDC/CI on the monitor is enabled.
Resolution I'm using is 1920 by 1200 @ 60Hz

Dell E173FP Monitor - I'm guessing it's a goner

(I'm guessing computer info is irrelevant because symptoms are the same when connected to a Dimension 660s or an Inspiron 1545, both running W10.)
When connected to either computer, powering it off and back on, there is a momentary appearance of the proper computer output with the "Auto Adjust In Progress" banner in front of it. Then the screen goes blank (1 or 2 seconds). That is repeatable if connected to either machine.
The menu buttons are apparently inoperable since pressing any of them does not bring up the menu screen. So much for doing a factory reset.
If it the discharge procedure is followed with everything disconnected, then just the power cord attached and the unit powered on, the Self-test dialog appears and immediately goes away (1 or 2 seconds). Again, repeatable.
So two momentary images depending on connections and signal, then nothing. Sound irretrievably dead to your, too?

Power Supply swap Precision T3500 with T5xxx
Is it possible to swap out the 525W PSU in my Precision T3500 Workstation with an 875W PSU from a Precision T5xxx Workstation? If so, will I have to swap out the wiring harness as well?
If the harness has to be swapped out, do all the motherboard connectors match up with my T3500? Thank you.
